I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Claude Code’s built in remote control feature already lets you respond to permission prompts from the Claude app on your phone.
    • This is what i thought/hoped. But man it is surprisingly buggy. Connections drop so fast and flakily. So many times I steppedd out of the house in a rush hoping remote control would help stay connected. And every time ive been sorely disappointed. Fool me once, fool me ten times....
    • its really buggy though, and often doesnt actually trigger the change.

samw with plan mode, it breaks everything in remote control and you cant get back out of it consistently

    • I built this for everyday cases like when I want to go make coffee while a terminal run is in progress and something needs approval. I get a notification and can instantly confirm or deny. Pulse also turns a boring terminal into something more visual so I can see exactly what claude is doing.
  • Claude Code’s built-in remote control feature already does this and works reasonably well. https://code.claude.com/docs/en/remote-control
    • Thanks for sharing! The built-in tool is definitely nice, but as another user (felooboolooomba) mentioned below, official push notifications can sometimes drop out on certain devices like Android
  • agents run on their own, phone only pings when something's irreversible and actually needs a human. per-call approval you stop reading by day two.
  • I'll give this a try. CC already has a good /remote-control feature along with the mobile app. But it recently stopped sending me notifications on Android so it's not much use anymore.
    • Awesome, hope it helps you get those notifications back!)
  • I like the look of it - my main problem with remote control feature in CC is the inability to start a new terminal session on my computer - can I do that from Pulse?
    • Check out Hapi (https://hapi.run/) - it's a thin wrapper around claude/codex/gemini, you can pick-up sessions from your phone and start terminal sessions remotely. It's pretty good. I use this with Emdash (https://emdash.sh/) as an agentic development environment.
    • Not yet. Pulse only works with sessions that are already running. I intentionally kept it focused on monitoring what's happening and handling approvals because that's what I personally needed most.

A remote launcher would be cool though, and it's something I've thought about adding in the future.

    • a way to solve it, which i recently started doing, is ssh-ing into the machine, starting a tmux runnin claude-code with /cc from there.
  • Do people care these days, I mean I have mine similar tool also at softcane/cc-blackbox
  • very cool
