• I'd like the yc cosmos explorable in a no man's sky type game where visiting the company planets will let you explore their business model manifested as a planetary culture and enemy types. The big AI companies will be black holes sucking in material and taking everyones lunch

  • Is there an underlying logic to the spatial layout? I made something similar for charting out the Bevy ecosystem recently, where my layout is driven by co-use of crates in projects scraped from GitHub. I'm afraid I didn't use an agent swarm though, and it's merely self hosted, not deployed in a single command. https://crates.rugaex.com/
    • Not as sophisticated as yours I’m afraid, the companies are clustered by category/industry. The layout has some semantic structure and proximity tries to reflect shared categories.

      The crate co-use looks interesting, and building it without agent swarms still counts :)

  • Cool idea, I have a couple of suggestions:

    - Get rid of the stars in the background, it's hard to distinguish a YC star from the one in the background.

    - Stars are way too small, it'd be better if you scale up the size. It's hard to select a star without zooming in.

  • Love the visualzation, the responsiveness, and the subtle labels and graph edges. I'd be interested to see any writeups/code on the creation of this, this closely aligns with my vision for traversing my blog database.

  • ^ Builder here, I used Kimi K3 and agent swarms to turn YC companies into an interactive galaxy. Every star is a startup you can click and explore.
    • What are the broad strokes of K3's design? What did you learn?
      • I built this mainly as a qualitative test of Kimi’s frontend capabilities given the strong frontend score on ARENA. Broadly, I’d say it’s quite capable, it even did a ton of validating, took screenshots, identified its own issues, and iterated repeatedly. The entire session was far more rigorous than I expected
        • Thanks! For me, learning more about the setup for that (mostly autonomous?) build process would be more engaging than spending a minute with the result.
          • Basically two prompts: 1) One for agent swarms to collect, cross-check, and structure the data. 2) Another to turn the dataset into the interactive galaxy.

            I agree though, the autonomous build process is more interesting than the artifact.

  • but like how does it help in exploring it? I get its cool looking but that's pretty much all to it. Also stars don't make much sense if all of them are exactly the same when in reality every star is very different in shape, type, nature etc. This is just mapping nodes on a 3d space and putting a cosmic barely thought out theme on it that concetually doesn't connect to the underlying data much
