• As someone who does frequently go fly fishing, this is essentially a nice pat on your back, as you'll mostly know where to click, I think. It's made overly confusing however, this could be way simpler and not as scientific. Fish aren't always that predictable and reliable in picking their spots.
  • I think this was great. It's obviously heavily or completely AI coded but it didn't bother me.

I would love the same thing for other kinds of fishing (not specifically fly fishing trout), or other outdoor activity - finding likely mushroom picking spots, hunting, etc.

  • Reeks of AI. Dripping in it.

So does that make it worse? At this point, I'm sorry, it does.

    • As someone that's never fly fished before, I found it to be a nice shallow wade into something I knew nothing about and came away slightly richer knowledge-wise for it.

But I do agree, it could probably use some more of the creator’s own personality and some restraint design wise if it were to go beyond scratching an itch.

  • It's a bit too scientific? It's good for beginners to understand which spots are more likely, but it feels more like a tutorial than a game. Would be cool if it was a bit more randomized and maybe plugged into a geocoder so the user could pick out real locations instead of a few hardcoded ones. Otherwise it's pretty cool, just something to think about.
  • I like the interactive elements, they look cool and intuitive. Great job! But the overall layout of the site looks more like a personal blog rather than a game? I couldn't quite figure where to start the game since I expected a title screen or scene. Despite that, I enjoyed playing it.
  • They should have some rivers in Montana -- probably most people's primary association of fly fishing is with Norman Maclean's autobiographical novella "A River Runs Through It" and Robert Redford's 1992 film of it.
  • I could see these types of games being useful in education
  • For someone completely new to angling, this is an excellent tutorial. The conclusions drawn from the relationship between water flow and fish behavior are quite compelling.
  • this is very cool, nice job! I flyfish all the time and it makes a lot of sense.
